Wall art ideas?

I've always wanted to have a ready made idea to start the ideas rolling for my clients. Thanks Lay for inspiring today's post, and thanks to lisasimages.com for the amazing layouts.

I have written a few times before about what to do with your image prints once they are home and in your hands. To frame or not to frame, how to cluster them. How do I make it all look good. Well I believe that art is subjective. There are so many ways to approach it. This is just one of many.

52 Project week one - water

Today begins the rest of my year, let me explain...
If you are at all into photography you have heard of the 365 projects where you take, edit, and post a picture each day of the year. Very interesting and unique, I'll give it to the person who started it all. However, I do not have that amount of spare time each and everyday, and if I did I wouldn't want to make a commitment to a photo a day. I mean, I love shooting, love editing, love sharing but I want days off too.

So, here's the compromise...I am doing a 52 project. A post a week, five photos (m-f get it?!) and a theme to the five shots.  I might spice it up as I go. Hope you all enjoy seeing the post each Wednesday. I am open to comment as I hope the images will evoke some thought and reflection or even a giggle.

My fave subjects

 

One of my favorite subjects is children, and of course my own children rank very high on the interest scale! They are creative, willing, and able subjects. Here Journey wanted to see how high she could jump. The goal is to "catch" that jump in mid air without blur. 

Set the camera to a high shutter speed or just go with automatic setting on your SLR and trail the subject as they move. Be sure to have PLENTY of light. Open a window, turn on lights, and maybe even a fill flash. Then ready, set, go! Move the camera with the subject, trail them as they move past you and then depress the shutter just when the magic happens. Don't worry about how many frames you capture, it's digital! 

I even dialed up the contrast and added some gritty feel to sharpen it up a bit to make her pop! Check out the free actions at: coffee tea photography
