Portrait tip

To make an interesting portrait is to make your subject feel comfortable. Try pictures at home in your own yard. Find a spot where the sun isn't shining straight on your subject OR your lens. Stand over your subject and help them cast their gaze up to the lens.
Find something that the subject can interact with...a tree, chair, playground, or as this picture shows a shed. The contrast between the beautiful young face and the scratchy shed are wonderful. HAPPY shooting!

If you try any of my techniques suggested in the EyeBlog...I'd love to see them. Email me!
